Telangana’s old farmer scheme paid landowners, whether or not they farmed their land. Its replacement pays only those who actually cultivate it, landowners and landless alike.

• 7 December 2023: A. Revanth Reddy is sworn in as Telangana’s Chief Minister, ending BRS’s rule.
• 26 January 2025: The state launches Rythu Bharosa and Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, replacing Rythu Bandhu.
• 27 January 2025: The first Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa installment is credited to landless families.
• March 2026: A new cycle of Rythu Bharosa applications closes, backed by the Bhu Bharati land-records system.
