Soren’s Return and a New Check

- Champai Soren served as interim CM.
- Hemant Soren returned as CM in July 2024, after bail.
- He was sworn in for a fresh term on 28 November 2024.
Payout rises, unlike Maharashtra
- Jharkhand’s payout went up after the election.
- In Maharashtra, Ladki Bahin Yojana, the list was trimmed instead.
Satyapan, the 2026 verification drive
- Beneficiaries had to submit Form 25/26 at their Anganwadi centre.
- The deadline was 31 May 2026.
- Only verified women were to be paid from the June 2026 instalment.
- Chhattisgarh ran a similar check: Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
Think it through: why raise a payout before an election, then check beneficiaries after it?
A higher payout wins support while voters decide. After the vote, the state has to pay the bill. A verification drive helps make sure money reaches only eligible women. Both steps follow the same budget logic.
