The US-EU Trade and Technology Council

The US and EU launched a forum in 2021 to cooperate on trade and technology. Its actual goal is sharing, not the control the exam wants you to believe.

What the TTC Is

Launch The US and EU launched the Trade and Technology Council on 15 June 2021, at their Brussels summit.
Leaders involved Presidents Biden, von der Leyen, and Michel launched it jointly.

Real Purpose vs Exam Trap

Actual goal The TTC aims to revitalise transatlantic cooperation, and boost trade and investment.
Not about control It does not aim to bring technological progress under their control. It promotes pooling digital resources, like AI models, with partner countries.

Coverage These cover tech standards, secure supply chains, tech regulation, and export controls.

Why it launched It followed trade disputes over steel and aluminium tariffs, and signalled a reset in the US-EU relationship.
