What GACSA Is
- Launch The Global Alliance for Climate-Smart Agriculture (GACSA) launched on 25 September 2014. It launched at the UN Climate Summit in New York, not the 2015 Paris summit.
- Founders It began as a coalition of 14 governments and 32 organizations, aiming to help 500 million farmers worldwide practice climate-smart agriculture.
- Voluntary GACSA is a voluntary, action-oriented alliance. Membership does not create any binding obligations on its members.
- India’s Role India was not among GACSA’s founding members and was not instrumental in creating it. India has since joined as a member, but did not help launch it.
