- Aglawe joined GSI in 1992, after earlier serving with the Indian Bureau of Mines. She has held senior positions across GSI’s Central, Northern, and Eastern Regions, and at its Central Headquarters.
- She is a specialist in palaeontology and palynology. Her research covers the Late Cretaceous-Palaeocene boundary and the Satpura-Gondwana basins.
- Aglawe identified the Salbardi-Ghorpend area, in Betul district, Madhya Pradesh, as a dinosaur nesting site. It preserves Upper Cretaceous dinosaur eggs, and her work there advanced the understanding of dinosaur distribution on the Indian subcontinent.
- On 4 August 2026, C-DAC and GSI signed an Umbrella MoU, at Electronics Niketan, New Delhi. It aims to strengthen geoscience, mineral exploration, and disaster management, using next-generation technologies. (Source: PIB)
- The partnership combines C-DAC’s High-Performance Computing with GSI’s geological expertise. Planned uses include high-resolution 3D subsurface mapping, and predictive modelling for mineral targeting.
