Must Know

Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana is Bihar’s self-employment scheme, for eligible women.
It pays an initial Rs 10,000, to help beneficiaries start a chosen business activity.
Beneficiaries can later receive up to Rs 2 lakh more, based on business performance.
Applicants must be aged 18 to 60, and already part of a Jeevika self-help group.
Only one woman per family is eligible; transgender applicants are also eligible.

The scheme is popularly known as “Dus Hazari,” Hindi for “ten thousand.”
PM Modi transferred the first round of funds via video conferencing, reaching 75 lakh women.
Payments go directly to beneficiaries, via Direct Benefit Transfer.
Jeevika is Bihar’s state rural livelihoods mission, built around women’s self-help groups.
The scheme built on years of existing JD(U)-led welfare work with Jeevika groups.
