  • His father, Dharmananda Kosambi, was a noted Buddhist and Pali scholar who worked closely with Mahatma Gandhi.
  • Kosambi earned a B.A. from Harvard University. He then taught mathematics at Banaras Hindu University, Aligarh Muslim University, and from 1933, at Fergusson College in Pune.
