Questions to think through

Why did IIT Delhi start as a college and not as an IIT?

The plan began as British-aided help for a college in Delhi. Parliament’s 1963 Act later made it an IIT. So the name and the legal standing came two years after the first classes.

Why does a university need its own campus away from the main site?

Space and purpose can differ. The Sonipat site has 50 acres and a Technopark for innovation. The main campus is at Hauz Khas, in the city.

Why is “remotely inaugurated” a useful phrase for an exam?

It tells you the Prime Minister did not travel to Sonipat. A question can test whether you know where he was and where the facility stands.

Why should you avoid saying “five frontiers” without checking?

A summary may list five of them. Check the source before you choose an answer.
