• Don’t confuse PMKSY with PM-RKVY. PMKSY targets irrigation infrastructure directly. PM-RKVY now houses the micro-irrigation subsidy work that PMKSY once ran on its own.
• PMKSY groups its work under two broad ideas: Jal Sanchay, water harvesting and storage, and Jal Sinchan, precision water application at the farm.
• The scheme deliberately narrowed its own scope in 2022. Even a flagship umbrella scheme can hand a component to a more specialised platform, rather than simply growing larger every year.
